Thailand Single-Entry e-Visa for Bangladeshis 2026 | Step-by-Step Guide

If you're planning a one-time holiday to Thailand — a Bangkok shopping trip, a Phuket beach break, or a family tour of Krabi — the single-entry tourist e-visa is the option you need. Since the Royal Thai Embassy moved Bangladeshi applications fully online in 2025, the whole process happens on your computer or phone. No passport submission, no visa-centre queues.

Here's exactly how the Thailand single-entry e-visa works, what it costs, and how Traveler's Holiday Ltd can do it all for you.

What is a single-entry e-visa?

A single-entry tourist visa lets you enter Thailand one time during the visa's validity. Once you exit the country, the visa is used up. For a single holiday with no plans to leave and re-enter Thailand, this is the most affordable and straightforward choice.

With this visa, you can stay up to 60 days, and you may be able to extend by another 30 days at a Thai immigration office inside Thailand (subject to a fee and approval).

Who should choose a single entry?

Pick the single-entry e-visa if you:

  • Are you taking a one-time trip to Thailand
  • Do not plan side trips to Cambodia, Laos or Malaysia that require re-entering Thailand
  • Want the lowest visa cost and simplest documentation

If you do plan to hop across borders and come back, consider the Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) instead — our team can advise which fits your itinerary.

Documents you'll need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months with 2 blank pages
  • A digital passport-style photo (white background, full face, no glasses)
  • Scan of your passport bio-data page
  • Confirmed round-trip air ticket
  • Hotel/accommodation booking in Thailand
  • Bank statement and solvency certificate proving sufficient funds (around 20,000 THB per person / 40,000 THB per family)
  • Travel itinerary

Step-by-step: how to apply

  1. Register an account on the official portal, thaievisa.go.th.
  2. Complete the application and select "Tourist Visa (TR)" — single entry.
  3. Upload your documents (photo and passport scan, usually .jpg, within the size limit).
  4. The system produces a "Payment Info Summary" containing your reference number, a QR code and the visa fee.
  5. Pay by bank transfer via the designated Commercial Bank of Ceylon channel and upload the summary sheet. Cash is not accepted, and payment must be made within 14 days, or the application is deleted.
  6. Wait about 10 working days for processing.
  7. Receive the approved e-visa by email, print it, and show the printout to Thai immigration when you land.

Fees and processing time

The single-entry tourist e-visa fee is roughly 1,400 THB (around USD 40), confirmed at the payment step (it shifts with the exchange rate). Processing usually takes about 10 working days, so apply at least 2–3 weeks before your departure to be safe.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Wrong photo format — using an edited photo, a coloured background, or glasses. Use a clean white-background photo.
  • Missing the 14-day payment window — your whole application is cancelled if you don't pay on time.
  • Insufficient bank balance — thin financials are a common reason for refusal.
  • Booking non-refundable tickets before approval — confirm your visa first, then finalise travel.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter Thailand more than once on a single-entry visa? No. It allows one entry. For multiple entries, you need the METV.

How long can I stay? Up to 60 days, often extendable by 30 more days at a Thai immigration office.

Do I have to send my passport anywhere? No. It's fully online — you receive the visa by email and print it.

What if my application is refused? The visa fee is generally non-refundable. Strong, accurate documents are the best way to avoid refusal, which is where a professional agency helps.
